3D Design Product Designer
Education Required
- Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirements
- Typically 1-2 years’ work experience in product design and prototyping process.
- Knowledge and diverse usage of CAD software packages: Autodesk Fusion360, Solidworks, Rhinoceros, GrabCAD print, Meshmixer, 3ds Max, Adobe Software Suite, CAM.
- Knowledge and practical experience operating 3D printing equipment and processes.
- Knowledge and practical experience operating CNC equipment and processes.
- Knowledge and practical experience in CAD drafting and document presentations.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- A high fabrication and mechanical aptitude.
- Must have valid driver's license and be able to meet the University of Iowa Fleet Management Driver’s safety requirements.
Desirable Qualifications
- Established working knowledge in product design and engineering principles.
- Knowledge of design, engineering and manufacturing terminology.
- Experience in part assembly and post processing procedures.
