Education Requirement: 

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year clinical experience with pacemaker and ICD interrogations including remote monitoring.
  • Demonstrated competency in interrogation of pacemakers and ICDs.
  • Competence in in-person and remote monitoring of single, dual and CRT pacing systems, implanted cardiac defibrillators and implanted loop recorders.
  • Ability to positively and effectively collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

  • Current certification in BLS required by start date.
  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa required by start date.
  • Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years clinical experience with pacemaker and ICD interrogations and reprogramming including remote monitoring.
  • Experience in an academic medical setting.
  • Previous experience using EPIC.
  • Current RCES, CCDS or CEPS certification.
  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures and practices.
