A/V Lighting Specialist
Education Requirement
• A Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA/BFA) in technical theatre or related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education.
Experience Required
• 6 months - 1 year of related professional theatre work experience
• Demonstrated experience with technical theatre equipment and maintenance to include audio, lighting, rigging, projection, and orchestra shell set-up.
• Demonstrated experience with computers, ETC equipment, Vectorworks, AutoCAD, QLab, AVID, and dB speakers or equivalents.
• Demonstrated experience working with student and union stagehands, Broadway tours, and performing arts touring productions.
• A professional attitude with a high level of customer service and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to work flexible hours, which include nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Desirable Qualifications
• Ability to read and comprehend stage plots, electrical diagrams, and light plots.
• Professional experience in a large-scale theatre (typically 1500 seats or more) presenting live touring productions, with management responsibility to include audio, lighting, rigging, projection, and orchestra shell.
• Professional experience working in a university setting.
