About The Office of Student Affairs and Curriculum:
The Office of Student Affairs and Curriculum (OSAC) is the group of 35 professionals that most directly facilitates the activities of medical students at the Carver College of Medicine. The mission is to provide an environment of scholarship and humanism in which our students can become the well-rounded physicians of tomorrow, fully prepared to enter into their professional lives focused on the well-being of their patients and communities. OSAC consists of 10 units, each focused on an aspect of student life. Among our duties are the selection of students that will thrive in this academic environment; to facilitate the delivery of a medical curriculum that provides the best didactic and practical learning experiences possible; to provide opportunities for students to experience the world through research, service, travel, and the humanities; and to support students throughout the learning process.
Education Required
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience is required.
Experience Requirements
Experience providing administrative support is required.
Demonstrated evidence of a commitment to diversity in the educational community is required.
The successful candidate must enjoy working with students and as a member of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Proficiency with Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.
Experience in computer software/database applications is required to support unit operations.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality in handling of unit tasks.
Desirable Qualifications
Previous curriculum support experience at a university or college is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to work independently is desirable.
Excellent interpersonal skills are desirable.
Experience in public speaking within a university or college setting is desirable.
Knowledge of institutional, UIHC, and CCOM, policies, procedures, processes and forms is desirable.

This position is eligible to participate in remote work after an orientation/onboarding period. Remote work must be performed at a location within the state of Iowa. Successful candidates who participate in remote work must comply with requirements of the remote work program and related policies. Work arrangement options will be discussed during the hiring process. Limited to one day per week (dependent on supervisor approval and work responsibilities).
