Required Qualifications:

  • For appointment at the Programming and Outreach Coordinator classification, Bachelor’s degree in library and information science, art history, or similar.
  • For appointment at the Librarian classification, Master’s degree from an ALA accredited Library Science Program.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity in an academic environment, in a workplace setting, and/or in the community.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based setting where consultation, flexibility, and collaboration are essential.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to articulate awareness of inequities and challenges in libraries, museums, and/or education, faced by historically underrepresented groups.
  • Advanced degree in a field related to the position.
  • Coursework or training in special collections librarianship, archives, art history, studio art, and/or museum studies.
  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of public history or the arts, including programming, events, and exhibitions.
  • Experience working in an archives or special collections, including the physical handling of materials.
  • Experience working in a museum environment.
  • Object-based teaching experience, especially at a college level.
