Accountant
Qualifications:
Education or Equivalency Required
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum six months of compliance, accounting or financial experience, to include account reconciliations, analysis of financial reports, and monitoring accounts.
- Demonstrate extensive proficiency with Microsoft Office software, (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
- Experience gathering and organizing data from a variety of systems/sources to perform a task.
- Demonstrate careful attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and effectively, proactively establish priorities, and meet non-negotiable deadlines.
Highly Desirable Qualification
- Professional experience with the University of Iowa policies, procedures, financial systems, IT services, and operations manual.
Desirable Qualification
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, IT services, and standards, within an academic or higher education setting.
- Experience with the financial systems of an academic or higher education institution.
- 1 year recent and relevant experience with applicable policies and regulations related to research budgets and grant accounting.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft PowerBI-Business data analytics.
