Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is required.
  • Five or more years in a leadership role such as operations manager or administrator in a clinical or healthcare setting including three or more years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Proven experience in writing, editing, and managing grant proposals and reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft, review, and edit complex documents effectively.
  • Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Experience coordinating and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications.
  • Evidence of progressive levels of decision-making authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Experience using grant management software and other related applications.
  • Experience collaborating with a cohort of national colleagues who share best practices for similar institutes at other universities.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial processes and regulatory requirements.
  • A PhD in a related field.

This position may eligible to participate in a hybrid (partially remote) work schedule after one year of employment and a satisfactory performance record. Remote work must be performed at a location within the state of Iowa. Hybrid within Iowa: This position is eligible for a combination of on-campus and remote work. Remote work must be performed at a location within the state of Iowa and comply with the remote work program and related policies.

 

Remote within Iowa: This position is eligible for primarily remote work but may require limited work onsite at times. Remote work must be performed at a location within the state of Iowa and comply with the remote work program and related policies.

As previously discussed, this position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
