This position requires the following position qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of expertise, experience and education.
  • Reasonable experience (typically 6mo-1 year) working in office or program administration and program coordination or other related fields.  
  • Demonstrates working proficiency in understanding effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Excellent verbal skills, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrates working proficiency in the ability to establish and build healthy working relationships and partnerships with colleagues within and external to own unit
  • Demonstrates working proficiency and success in organizing and planning tasks, event planning, processing detailed information with good accuracy and in meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrates working proficiency and knowledge of office support software and applications, including email, word processing, spreadsheets and database management and the interconnectivity of these tools.
  • Demonstrates a working proficiency with social media management and strategy in a professional capacity. This includes: creativity (in format/design), organization and efficiency (task and goal oriented), adaptive (try new features, change posts with timeline etc.), writing short copy to garner attention, and analysis for improvements/success.
 

The following are highly desired position qualifications for this position:

  • One to three years of office or program administration and coordination experience.
  • Demonstrates commitment to excellence in undergraduate education.
  • Demonstrates working proficiency in a supervisory role including providing tactful and direct feedback and resolving problems for college-aged students.
  • Demonstrates basic to working knowledge of and some professional experience with website management.
All positions at the University of Iowa are required to meet expected proficiency levels 
within the UniversalCompetencies.  This position is required to perform these at a
working level.

Compensation
The successful incumbent may be hired at a salary within the budget parameters of 
$38,000-$44,000 which is within the pay level 2B minimum to median zone range.
