Position Qualifications:
 
Education Required
  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
     
    Experience Requirements
  • One – three years professional administrative/office experience
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to function autonomously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to compose communications/correspondence and grammatically correct documents in a concise, logical and organized manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects quickly and effectively.
  • Attendance at some meetings and events outside of normal working hours.
  • Previous human resources experience.
  • Demonstrated competency and experience using most Microsoft Office software, which can include Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
     
    Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience with coordinating and organizing of special events is desirable.

  • Knowledge of and experience with University of Iowa Policies and Procedures – specifically with regard to UI Human Resources and HRIS -  is highly desirable.
