Position Summary:
ESL Programs is seeking an Administrative & Academic Coordinator.
This position will assist in the completion of a wide range of administrative responsibilities. Duties include classroom scheduling, desktop publishing, website updates, monitor class enrollments, and initiating HR transactions.

Key Duties Include:
  • Provide administrative support to the Directors and Administrative Faculty
  • Update the Programs’ web site monthly
  • Facilitate student recruitment effort for the Iowa Intensive English Program (IIEP)
  • Initiate purchasing requests for supplies and equipment. Monitor accounts/expenditures; reconcile statements
  • Design and publish the intensive English program newsletter each semester; prepare flyers for fieldtrips and activities
  • Assist students with a variety of questions; enter test results; remove restrictive codes, give special permission for courses using  MAUI
  • Manage course scheduling of all ESL and TAPE classes in MAUI

Education Required: A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Required:


    •   Must be U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident pursuant to federal laws and regulations for a Designated School Official (DSO)

  • Typically 6 -12 months experience providing administrative support for a program that includes supporting/coordinating day to day operations and providing support to an administrator/manager or similar position.
  • Working experience with data collection, management and reporting processes.
  • Experience working in a position requiring a high level of customer service while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including capacity to demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and participate as a member of a team and work groups in a constructive manner while appreciating the unique contribution of diverse individuals (i.e. individuals from varied cultures, race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, and veteran status), are required.
  • Demonstrated working competency using Microsoft Office Programs, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must demonstrate careful attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and effectively, proactively establish priorities and meet deadlines, and solve problems independently and creatively.
 

Highly Desired Experience:

  • Demonstrated working proficiency in managing social media platforms, including maintaining a regular posting schedule, producing content, growing audiences, and collecting and utilizing analytics to guide strategy.
 

Experience Desired:

  • Knowledge of student records management systems such as MAUI.
  • Knowledge of UI policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated strong interest in both U.S.-based diversity and global perspectives and populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust and develop self to prepare for new or changing assignments, processes, people or priorities as organizational needs dictate at a working proficiency level.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and execute events and to coordinate resources before, during and after an event.
  • Knowledge & ability to use Adobe Pro and Drupal.
  • Some background or experience in marketing.
