The Department of Pathology is seeking an Administrative Services Specialist to perform administrative and fiscal responsibilities requiring discretion and independent judgment. Coordinate the administrative and operational responsibilities in the DeGowin Blood Center including oversight of clerical staff, assistance with complex reports, develop statistical tables requiring specialized terminology and other tasks. Duties involve the use of personal computers, lab information systems and a variety of software and knowledge of basic office equipment. Provides supervision to frontline support staff. This position is 100% time, Monday-Friday, 0800-1630.

Duties to include:

·         Assist with planning, developing, coordinating and implementing short- and long-range goals as outlined in the strategic plan for the project, program, unit, department, or college/division.

·         May provide functional and/or administrative supervision of staff.

·         Analyze, monitor and report financial data, information and reports.

·         Assist in the preparation of strategic plans in support of the Dean, Director, DEO, or VP.

·         Research information to facilitate communication process.

Required Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is required.

·         Six months to one-year administrative experience, including accounting, is required.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

·         Must be proficient in computer software applications.

Desirable Qualifications:

·         Some (6 mos. – 1 year) supervisory experience is desirable.

·         Some knowledge of university policies, procedures and regulations is desirable.

·         Prefer experience with BECS and EPIC software.

·         Prefer experience with ELMS timekeeping System.

·         Prefer demonstrated proficiency in use of and as a resource person for Policy Tech, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.

·         Prefer experience in a health care or clinical environment.
