Admissions Counselor - School of Music
Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in music admissions or comparable experience. Comparable experience may include academic advising, career services advising, or work specifically targeting first-year students.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Must be able to travel domestically and have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Extensive knowledge and application of oral and written communication and relationship building skills.
- Must demonstrate careful attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks or projects quickly and effectively.
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in or experience in music.
- Familiarity with financial aid policies and practices.
- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Experience supervising support staff or student employees.
