AirCare Manager- (Nursing Credential: Utilize this posting if you have Nursing Credentials & Experience.)

Required Education:

• Baccalaureate or Master's in Nursing is required.  Preferred Master's degree (in nursing, MBA, or healthcare related) or Doctorate (DNP, PhD). 
• If candidate does not have a Master's degree, they will be strongly encouraged to obtain one within 5 years of starting the position. 

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• Current license to practice nursing in Iowa and/or Wisconsin. 
• Ability to obtain Illinois license within 6 months of hire date. 
• Driver's License and ability to meet and maintain UI Fleet Safety Standards. 

Required Experience:

• 3+ years of nursing leadership and management experience.
• 3+ years experience in flight critical care service is required,  
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required by start date. 
• Advanced Trauma course:  TNCC, PHTLS required by start date.   TPATC required within 6 months of hire. 
• Experience with unit operations including human resources, financial management, and compliance with regulatory environment with various federal and state agencies and the Joint Commission.
• Must be proficient in computer software applications.
• Must be able to demonstrate job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Certification in a role or specialty through a nationally recognized professional nursing certification body. If not currently certified, must seek certification in a role or specialty as soon as eligible to sit for exam.

Desired Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in leadership/management roles including clinical experience providing patient care in a Level I Trauma Center ED, ICU or high-volume ALS or Critical Care ambulance service and/or flight experience is required.
• Certified Medical Transport Executive (CMTE) desired.
• Previous experience working in a large academic medical center.
• Experience working in a union environment.
