The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus will open in the Spring of 2025. This 469,000 square foot facility will be home to UI Health Care’s nationally recognized Orthopedics service line, offering comprehensive, coordinated, and accessible care across the outpatient, inpatient and surgical venues. These state-of-the-art clinical facilities will also include a full-service community imaging center, laboratory services, physical therapy, retail pharmacy, and emergency department as well as an array of support services. University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Anesthesia is seeking a Clinical Technician II. This position under general supervision, operates and maintains highly specialized medical equipment for use in performance of tests and studies related to the treatment of patients and to assist the Anesthesia providers before, during, and following patient procedures at our University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus
Characteristic Duties of our Clinical Technicians include but are not limited to:
- Disinfect anesthesia machines, monitors, and equipment per procedures established by infection control.
- Ensures anesthesia carts and machines are stocked with supplies at the end of each case and at the end of the day.
- Checks anesthesia equipment to ensure they are in working order and reports issues to Bioengineering.
- Provide prompt, courteous customer support.
- Run errands as requested by anesthesiologists and CRNAs as appropriate to facilitate the preparation and conduct of anesthesia.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by team members.
Location: Medical Center North Liberty
*Please note - Prior to the Medical Center North Liberty opening, candidates will be expected to begin orientation at our Medical Center University Campus in Iowa City.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Two years of health care experience involving direct patient care including use of specialized medical equipment at the level of a Clinical Technician I or equivalent, or a combination of related education and experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, patients, and the public.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to collect data and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to operate and perform routine maintenance on various types of highly specialized medical equipment.
- Ability to perform calibrations of equipment.
