Apparel Buyer
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising or Textiles or equivalent combination of education and retail experience.
Experience Required:
- Work experience (typically 3 years or more) in retail environment including purchasing and inventory control.
- Knowledge of procedures and methods for the procurement and management of inventory.
- Working knowledge of tools and techniques for maintaining an environment where all understand, and are committed to, providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish and build healthy working relationships and partnerships.
- Extensive understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to fifty pounds on an occasional basis.
- Proficient with standard MS Office applications.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Work experience (typically 3 or more years) in a collegiate retail or collegiate buying position.
- Budget experience and related financial management processes.
- Store display and merchandising experience.
