Application Developer - Anesthesia
Position Qualifications:
Education Required:
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or
MIS or an equivalent combination of education and related application
development/support experience.
Experience Required:
- Experience in the development, configuration and/or support of applications used by non-technical customers to support and enhance healthcare workflows processes
- typically 3-5 years for an Application Developer role including experience with programming tools and a comprehensive understanding of database technologies
- Experience supporting the configuration and development of at least one healthcare enterprise application or area of functionality
Experience working with application owners and/or vendors to define system requirements, integration requirements and understand business needs
Demonstrated ability with converting business requirements into functional/technical specifications for complex integrated systems build
Demonstrated ability using tools for customizing vendor application software
Demonstrated ability communicating technical information effectively to technical and non-technical staff at the verbal, written and presentation levels
Demonstrated job-related experience and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with any of the following workflows: anesthesia, procedural and surgical services, ambulatory/inpatient nursing, or physician documentation
Experience supporting device integration in a perioperative, ambulatory or hospital setting
Epic certification related but not limited to the following: Optime, Anesthesia EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient
Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical staff on system implementation projects
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with basic project management
Proven ability to write application test scripts
Experience working with HL7 interfaces
