Education Required

Bachelor’s in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related application development/support experience

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in the development and/or support of applications used by non-technical customers to support and enhance healthcare workflows processes. Typically, 3-5 years of experience for an Application Developer role
  • Experience contributing to an integrated information system implementation cycle though areas such as design, workflow analysis, build, training, implementation, testing and support
  • Demonstrated experience working with end-users to define system requirements, understand business needs and convert business requirements into functional/technical specifications for complex integrated systems build
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with basic project management.
  • Experience communicating technical information effectively to technical and non-technical staff at the verbal, written and presentation levels
  • Demonstrated job-related experience and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety requirements

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting an EMR in an ambulatory or hospital setting
  • Experience with any of the following workflows: health information management (HIM), release of information (ROI), hospital coding and billing, deficiency tracking
  • Epic certification related but not limited to the following:  Epic Health Information Management (HIM), Epic Release of Information (ROI), Epic Hospital Coding, Epic Deficiency Tracking, Epic Identity
  • Experience authoring training materials and conducting training sessions for groups of various sizes
  • Strong problem solving and process improvement skills for managing service delivery, including developing workflows and new business processes
  • Proven ability to write application test scripts
