Education/Licensure Requirements: 

  • JD degree with a license to practice law in Iowa (If no license to practice, candidate must commit to becoming licensed in Iowa within one year) 
  • Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience working in/with the nonprofit sector, or the functional equivalent of such experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience developing and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences, with and without multi-media tools. 
  • One or more years of experience in a position offering legal guidance to individuals or entities.
  • One or more years of experience in a position of program management, decision-making, and developing processes to meet strategic goals.
  • One or more years of experience successfully developing collaborative relationships with diverse groups of people within or external to an organization.
  • A working knowledge and proficiency with one or more of the following: Microsoft Office Suite (or Word and Excel), web management software; and/or demonstrated ability to learn emerging technology. 
  • A sample presentation and/or publication on a nonprofit topic (pdf format).

 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Facilitating strategic planning, leadership development, succession planning, or similar programming for nonprofit entities. 
  • Creating online content, including tutorials.
  • One or more years working with promotional campaigns to attain program objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute fundraising strategies.
  • A record demonstrating a strong client service orientation. 
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.
