Assistant Director, Multicultural & International Student Support & Engagement (MISSE)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Work experience (typically 3 years) experience working in higher education in advising, developing, coordinating, and evaluating student life and campus activities programming with progressive experience in multicultural engagement
- Reasonable (typically 3 years) experience including: staff supervision, financial management and program assessment
- Extensive understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
- Demonstrated working knowledge and proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Work requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Experience with creating a welcoming and respectful work environment as well as experience working with students of color, international students, other historically underrepresented students, and/or students with a variety of backgrounds and perspectives
- Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and civil manner while appreciating the unique contribution of individuals
Highly Desirable Qualification:
- Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Student Development, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
Desirable Qualification:
- 5 years of experience in higher education in advising, developing, coordinating, and evaluating student life programs; preferably in multicultural and/or international student programs and activities, and/or students with a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
