Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Behavior or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum of three years of experience in human resource administration or HR management, to include recruitment and leave/disability management;
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment;
  • Knowledge of contemporary human resource principles, practices and processes and current federal and state laws, statutes, regulations, policies and directives pertaining to human resources;
  • Ability to operate effectively within a highly regulated and fast-paced team environment;
  • A strong customer service orientation and excellent attention to detail.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • PHR, SHRM-CP or other professional HR certification;
  • Knowledge of/experience with University of Iowa HR systems, policies and processes strongly desired;
  • Experience with online time and attendance systems (such as TreeRing or similar) and processing of hourly/non-exempt payroll.
