Education Requirements:

  • A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required
  • Current License to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire.

Experience Requirements

  • 1+ years of nursing experience with demonstrated skills in leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer software applications (such as Microsoft programs)
  • Demonstrates time management, organization of workload, delegation, attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Collaborates and develops effective interpersonal relationships with nursing staff, medical staff, interdisciplinary teams, and other hospital departments.
  • Demonstrates effective teaching skills for staff and patient education.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with faculty, staff, and students from variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Certification in specialty (CNOR) desired or completion within 2 years is required.
  • Current ACLS certification desired or completion within 6 months of employment is required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in a large academic medical center.
  • Experience in a union environment.
