Assistant Nurse Manager - Center for Disabilities & Development
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa or ability to obtain an Iowa license by date of hire is required.
- Minimum 1-3 years of clinical practice and demonstrated skills in management and supervision.
- Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams by demonstrating excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to serve as a liaison and to collaborate with physicians, staff, patients, and other customers.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, decision making and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrates effective teaching skills for staff and patient education.
- Proficiency with computer software applications (such as Microsoft programs).
- Demonstrates time management, organization of workload, delegation, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
- Established skills for leading change and implementation of evidence-based practice.
- Professional job-related experience fostering or promoting a welcoming and respectful work/academic environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing desired.
- Experience working in an academic medical center.
- Relevant expertise and knowledge for coaching and mentoring team members to reach their highest potential.
- Knowledge of UI and UIHC policies, procedures, protocols, and regulations.
- Experience with development and implementation of evidence-based practice (EBP) standards.
- Membership/involvement in professional organizations.
- Professional certification in relevant nursing role or specialty through a nationally recognized professional nursing certification body. If not currently certified (professional certification), expectation is to achieve when employee is eligible to sit for the exam.
