Assistant Preparator
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience Required
- A degree in Studio Art or related field or equivalent combination of related experience and education.
- Some experience (at least 1 year) working in a museum or archive and with art preparation.
- Some experience (at least 1 year) working in art preparation or packing.
Competencies Required
- Demonstrates a WORKING proficiency level in:
- Communicating for effective relationships including application of techniques and skills that develop the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Program driving requirements.
- Basic skill in art handling.
- Basic knowledge of art storage and packing methods, techniques, and procedures.
Desirable Qualifications
- Working or extensive knowledge or skill in art handling, exhibition preparation, and/or art storage and display.

*This is a specified term P&S position with full benefits. The successful incumbent will be appointed in no longer than one-year increments not to exceed 08/31/2022 unless additional funding is secured.
