POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education
- A Master’s degree, preferably in higher education, business, liberal arts or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience and Competency
- Expert/Leader proficiency in career services, including a minimum of ten years direct experience in a career services office.
- Extensive proficiency in creating, advancing and maintaining relationships, particularly with partner employers recruiting students in a University setting.
- Expert/Leader proficiency in collaborating and embracing diversity, working with a variety of individuals and groups to foster respectful communication, learning and spirit of cooperation.
- Working to expert proficiency in career development theories, evidenced through experience providing career advice and coaching to students at varying stages of their education and career search.
- Demonstrates leadership abilities to implement high impact career practices in a collaborative environment and assuring governance practices meet the highest placement, standards and/or rankings.
- Demonstrates expert proficiency in strategic thinking and planning to make effective long-term business decisions.
- Ability to communicate at an expert proficiency demonstrating effective use of tools, concepts, and techniques as well as transmission, receipt and interpretation of information and ideas.
- Demonstrates leadership in processes, policies, and behavior affecting organizational administration and performance.
- Professional working experience with social media for organizations and career services software (ex. Handshake).
Desired Experience
- Post-secondary teaching experience.
