Associate Director - Director of Embedded Counseling Programs
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral level degree in either counseling or clinical psychology from an APA-accredited institution OR Master’s level degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling from either a CSWE-Accredited or CACREP-Accredited institution.
- Possession of either a license in counseling psychology or clinical psychology from the state of Iowa, or license as an LISW or LMHC within the state of Iowa within 12 months of hire. License must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
- Post-degree experience (typically 2 years or more) providing mental health counseling.
- Extensive written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Extensive proficiency providing counseling to adolescents and young adults.
- Extensive ability to respond to emergency situations effectively, professionally, and appropriately in a timely manner.
- Extensive understanding of and commitment to diversity issues in the delivery and management of counseling center services.
- Extensive experience in a progressively responsible administrative role that requires planning, evaluating, initiating, and directing the day to day administration of a complex system within a mental health service, using various resources to accomplish long- and short-term goals.
- Working knowledge of providing clinical supervision to trainees.
- Working proficiency with office support tools and electronic medical records software (e.g., word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets, electronic health records); preferably Microsoft Office and Titanium EHR.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous university or college counseling center experience, preferably in an environment with an embedded counseling program or model.
- Experience building/growing a successful embedded mental health program in a collegiate environment or similar.
- Experience and interest in research and data collection/analysis.
