Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Extensive professional experience (typically 3-5 years) in campus recreation at an institution of higher education involving swimming/aquatic program management.
  • Extensive experience managing performance of professional employees involving the application of performance management system, practices, and tools to develop and improve individual, team and organizational performance.
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget.
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to ensure safe practices in daily operations and effective maintenance and repair services for facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative climate that recognizes and promotes diversity and individual growth in multicultural competency.
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • American Red Cross in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification.
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Registered Collegiate Recreational Sports Professional.
  • Proficiency in the use of Hy-Tek Swim Meet Management software.
  • Proficiency in the use of swim timing equipment and scoreboard systems.
