Associate Director - Office of Student Accountability
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Higher Education / Student Development or a Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Progressive leadership experience (typically a minimum of 5 years) in an administrative role, including supervision of staff and directing the daily operations of a unit, department, or program.
- Investigatory experience (typically a minimum of 3 years) including conducting interviews, policy interpretation, data gathering and analysis, writing investigative reports, and determination of remedial actions, preferably including experience with investigations that could result in suspension or expulsion.
- Experience with due process procedures and educational development principles pertaining to the college student.
- Commitment to and alignment with the values of the Division of Student Life, including a demonstrated commitment to excellence through diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Superior written and verbal communications skills.
- Proficient in computer software applications
Desirable Qualifications:
- Work experience (typically a minimum of 1 year) in public speaking and/or teaching.
- Knowledge and application of superior written and verbal communication techniques. Relationship building skills that develop the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write thorough, clear, and succinct documents, reports and letters to a variety of audiences including students, faculty, staff, and families. This may include published work or articles for submission to scholarly journals.
- Advanced investigatory experience (typically 5 years or more) including conducting interviews, policy interpretation, data gathering and analysis, writing investigative reports, and determination of remedial actions, preferably also including experience with investigations that could result in suspension or expulsion.
- Work experience delivering training related to student conduct or restorative justice practices.
- The ability to work independently and with initiative, at times without a clearly outlined structure or directives.
- Proficient in computer software applications as cloud-based management tools, Maxient, etc.
- Experience working effectively with faculty and students.
