Associate Genetic Counselor
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Genetics or Genetic Counseling.
- Genetic Counseling clinical rotations or internship experience; or 6 months to 1 year of experience in the field of genetic counseling is required.
- Board certification or eligibility in genetic counseling from the American Board of Genetic Counseling is required.
- Current licensure or eligible to be licensed as a Genetic Counselor in state of Iowa is required.
- Proficient in computer software applications (Office Suite)
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel; some overnight stays required
Desirable Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License with the ability to meet and maintain The University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standard.
- Ability to travel; some overnight stays required
- Demonstrated experience with developing educational materials
- Demonstrated experience with teaching health related topics to the general public and to health care professionals
- Demonstrated experience participating in quality improvement activities
- Demonstrated time management and ability to prioritize projects/tasks
