Associate Ombudsperson
- Master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required;
- Demonstrated knowledge around issues related to diversity and demonstrated proficiency working with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and civil manner while appreciating the unique contribution of individuals from varied cultures, race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity;
- Extensive experience in law, social science, psychology, education, public administration, social work, conflict management, and/or human resources;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated experience with, and commitment to, maintaining confidentiality and integrity;
- Demonstrated experience pursuing courses of action that may challenge persons in positions of authority;
- Candidates must be recognized as good listeners and as informed, fair-minded problem-solvers;
- The candidate must be willing to be an active member of the International Ombudsman Association and to participate in continued professional development.
- Previous experience working in higher education preferred.
- Knowledge of University administration, diversity, structure, policies and procedures is desirable.
