Education Required

  • Ph.D. in auditory sciences, immunology, anatomy, neuroscience, cell biology, molecular biology, or other related fields.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant research experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within the lab, with collaborators, and with broader research community is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work with mouse models.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Working with experimental mouse models, including:
    • Mouse handling.
    • Maintaining essential mouse lines.
    • Overseeing a mouse breeding colony.
    • Working with non-tumor bearing, normal mice.
    • Working with Tumor-bearing mice.
  • Auditory testing that include both Auditory brainstem response (ABR) and Distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE).
  • Experimental skills with any of the following:
    • Cochlear wholemount dissection.
    • Cochlear mid-modiolar sectioning.
    • Cell culture.
    • Molecular techniques (e.g., Western blot, qRT-PCR, ELISA, Flow cytometry, etc.).
    • Immunohistochemistry.
    • Fluorescence in situ hybridization.
    • Confocal imaging.
    • Single cell/nucleus RNA-Sequencing.
    • Computer R coding skills.
