Associate Research Scientist - Department of Biology
Education Required
- Ph.D. in auditory sciences, immunology, anatomy, neuroscience, cell biology, molecular biology, or other related fields.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant research experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within the lab, with collaborators, and with broader research community is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work with mouse models.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Working with experimental mouse models, including:
- Mouse handling.
- Maintaining essential mouse lines.
- Overseeing a mouse breeding colony.
- Working with non-tumor bearing, normal mice.
- Working with Tumor-bearing mice.
- Auditory testing that include both Auditory brainstem response (ABR) and Distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE).
- Experimental skills with any of the following:
- Cochlear wholemount dissection.
- Cochlear mid-modiolar sectioning.
- Cell culture.
- Molecular techniques (e.g., Western blot, qRT-PCR, ELISA, Flow cytometry, etc.).
- Immunohistochemistry.
- Fluorescence in situ hybridization.
- Confocal imaging.
- Single cell/nucleus RNA-Sequencing.
- Computer R coding skills.
