Asst Research Scientist - Microbiology
Required Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Microbiology, Cell biology, or Biology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral research experience working in a microbiology, cell biology, or a related field
- Extensive proficiency with each of the following:
- Molecular biology techniques
- Generating genome-wide CRISPR knockout libraries
- Preparing NGS libraries for sequencing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point and Prism software
- Ability to work independently while being reliable and efficient with time management
- Working experience with each of the following:
- Mammalian cell culture and sterile techniques
- Handling and conducting research experiments with mice
- Fluorescent microscopy
- Flow cytometry techniques
- Mammalian cell culture and sterile techniques
Desirable Qualifications:
- Working experience with each of the following:
- Retroviral transduction, lentiviral infection
- Immunofluorescence
- Working experience with ChIP-Seq
- Basic bioinformatics including the use of DAVID online resources and CRISPR sgRNA analysis
- Analysis of RNAseq data
- Animal viruses, including virus titering
