Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Microbiology, Cell biology, or Biology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral research experience working in a microbiology, cell biology, or a related field 
  • Extensive proficiency with each of the following:
    • Molecular biology techniques
    • Generating genome-wide CRISPR knockout libraries
    • Preparing NGS libraries for sequencing
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point and Prism software
    • Ability to work independently while being reliable and efficient with time management
  • Working experience with each of the following: 
    • Mammalian cell culture and sterile techniques
      • Handling and conducting research experiments with mice
      • Fluorescent microscopy
      • Flow cytometry techniques 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Working experience with each of the following:
    • Retroviral transduction, lentiviral infection
    • Immunofluorescence
  • Working experience with ChIP-Seq 
    • Basic bioinformatics including the use of DAVID online resources and CRISPR sgRNA analysis
    • Analysis of RNAseq data
    • Animal viruses, including virus titering
