Athletic Facilities Attendant
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Two years’ experience as groundskeeper or equivalent experience attained elsewhere or a combination of at least one year of groundskeeping experience and indoor/outdoor athletic facility maintenance experience to equal two years total or any combination of related experience and education from which comparable knowledge and ability can be acquired which totals two years.
- Possession of State Driver’s or Chauffeur’s license and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Basic understanding or experience with electrical, mechanical, and/or computer repair.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to operate and care for equipment necessary to maintain athletic facilities.
- Ability to provide supervision for hourly staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, staff, vendors and general public.
- Experience with Vinyl upholstery or willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently, stay self-motivated, and be accountable for job duties.
