Education Requirements
  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in clinical psychology, counseling, social work, or counseling-related field.
Required Qualifications
  • Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Iowa as a Licensed Clinical Provider {Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)}.
  • 2+ years of clinical experience, required.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively, respectfully and appropriately with diverse populations in the Department, University and the community.
  • Excellent written and electronic communication.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks in a high-stress environment.
  • Able to accurately interpret and adhere to NCAA and BIG Conference rules, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, University of Iowa and the Department of Athletics policies, and Iowa licensure-related statutes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working with diverse and multicultural populations.
Desirable Qualifications
  • 2 years or more of clinical experience in sport, higher education, or other related setting.
  • Advanced training in sport psychology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of unique aspects of student-athlete population.
  • Experience, knowledge and understanding of eating disorders/disordered eating-assessment and treatment.
  • Experience, knowledge, and ability to treat trauma and trauma-related issues.
