Boatwright & Assistant Rowing Operations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree (or international equivalent) or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Hands on experience with all of the following trades: welding, small engine maintenance/repair (e.g., outboard motor), and carpentry.
- A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain The University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standards.
- Working knowledge of and ability to:
- Utilize basic office support software (word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets)
- Communicate effectively (written and oral) as demonstrated by working constructively and collaboratively within a diverse environment, including vendors, event managers, customers, donors, fans, etc.
- Operate effectively within a highly regulated team environment.
- Ability to move equipment weighing up to 100 pounds and ability to navigate on uneven surfaces to safely move between all water vessels and docks.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the professionalism and intensity necessary to successfully contribute to a Division I athletics program.
- Experience in composite (e.g., fiberglass, carbon fiber) fabrication and repair of rowing shells is highly preferred. Experience in the field of auto body repair is considered an excellent alternative.
