Required Qualifications

  • An MSN or master’s degree in an appropriate medical-related clinical discipline with 1-3 years’ recent clinical experience providing care to adult or pediatric patient populations is required

~ or ~

  • A BSN or bachelor’s degree in an appropriate medical-related clinical discipline with 3-5 years’ recent clinical experience providing care to adult or pediatric patient populations is required
  • Recent experience using an electronic medical record is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of incorporating evidence-based practice techniques in a health care setting is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Power Point and Excel is required.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa
  • Medical record abstraction or clinical computer information systems experience
  • Computer proficiency with databases or software applications
  • Formal continuing education in performance improvement techniques, such as DMAIC, TQM, or similar nationally recognized techniques
  • Professional certification related to healthcare quality (i.e. CPHQ, ASQ)
  • Some (6 months - 1 year of experience) experience in public speaking, technical writing and/or teaching
  • Some knowledge of University and Regent policies, procedures, and regulations
