Behavioral Health Clinical Manager

Required Qualifications

·       A master’s or equivalent education and experience in counseling psychology, counseling, counselor education, or related field is required. A Ph.D. degree in counseling psychology or a closely related field is desirable.

·       Licensed or license eligible in the state of Iowa as a psychologist, mental health counselor, or mental health professional in a closely related field. Possession of a valid State of Iowa mental health provider license is required at time of hire. License must be maintained as a condition of continued employment, in addition to the Master’s degree.

·       Minimum of three years’ administrative and supervisory experience in a counseling center or student services department.

·       Minimum of three years of experience providing counseling and/or academic support in an academic setting.

·       Experience serving a college or graduate student population.

·       Demonstrated skill at building and maintaining helping relationships.

·       Demonstrated skill at building and maintaining collaborative, collegial relationships, teamwork and leadership.

·       Expertise in assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning; and the capacity to implement therapeutic interventions.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·       Knowledge of computers, including word-processing, database management, spreadsheets, and organizational charts.

·       Demonstrate job-related experience with fostering a welcoming and respectful work environment and/or otherwise demonstrate their ability to foster a welcoming and respectful work/academic environment for people from all types of backgrounds.

Desirable Qualifications

·       Administrative experience in an academic counseling center.

·       Experience providing counseling to graduate and professional students in a healthcare setting.

·       Experience developing outreach or prevention programming.
