Required Qualifications:

  • A BSN or bachelor’s degree in an appropriate medical-related clinical discipline, or equivalent combination of related education and clinical experience.
  • 1-3 years’ recent experience related to adult or pediatric patient care or medical database abstraction.
  • Recent experience using an electronic medical record.  Preferably EPIC.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of incorporating evidence-based practice techniques in a health care setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Power Point, and Outlook with advanced level skills in Excel.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience with medical record abstraction or clinical computer information systems.
  • Computer proficiency with data bases or software applications.

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-directed including time management, accuracy and communication.
  • Experience with, and knowledge of, procedures and biomedical products related to cardiology and cardiovascular procedures.
  • Experience with data management systems and familiarity with clinical data analysis and reporting.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a health-related field.
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa.
  • Formal continuing education in performance improvement techniques, such as DMAIC, TWM, or similar nationally recognized techniques.
  • Professional certification related to healthcare qualify (CPHQ, ASQ).
  • 1-year experience in public speaking, technical writing, training presentations, and/or teaching.
  • Knowledge of University and Regent policies, procedures, and regulations.
