Qualifications:

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Restaurant/Hospitality Management, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Experience Required:

  • Experience (typically 1-3 years) in banquet, catering, and/or hospitality sales and service.
  • Administrative experience (typically 6 months – 1 year) including day-to-day management of accounts receivable and/or payable.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through appropriate communication methods and behaviors at a working proficiency level.
  • Demonstrated working proficiency in the ability to provide excellent customer services and meet or exceed customer service needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust and develop self to prepare for new or changing assignments, processes, people or priorities as organizational needs dictate at a working proficiency level.
  • Demonstrated working proficiency in the ability to work with a wide variety of individuals and groups while appreciating the unique contribution of individuals.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse group of clientele with the ability to model open, respectful, accepting, and supportive behaviors with team members.
  • Proficient in standard computer software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Valid US driver’s license and ability to be compliant with UI Fleet Safety program requirements.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience (typically 6 months – 1 year) in conducting sales or cold calling.
  • Working experience with computerized food service and event management systems and software; and electronic timekeeping systems.
  • Working knowledge of event management processes and activities.
  • Some experience in a higher education environment with knowledge of University business procedures, policies, and practices.
