Chief Administrative Officer-University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital
Necessary qualities and qualifications include:
Education/Knowledge
- A graduate degree or the equivalent in healthcare administration, business or a related discipline
- Proven business and financial skills.
- Reasonable knowledge of pediatric hospital accreditation standards.
Experience
- Minimum of ten years of progressive management experience in healthcare operations.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in successful healthcare business/program development.
- Demonstrated record of working effectively and collaborating with nurses, physicians, ancillary personnel, and administrators.
- Experience in the development and evaluation of clinical programs.
- Experience in strategic development and deployment of strategic plans.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting and incorporating diversity in employment, programs, and patient care services.
Desired Qualities & Qualifications
- Experience in an academic medical center or complex teaching hospital.
- Minimum of five years of experience in pediatric hospital administration.
- Demonstrated commitment to the delivery of high-quality pediatric care.
- Effectiveness in assembling and leading teams.
- Experience in marketing of pediatric services.
- Experience in fundraising.
- Experience with benchmarking and using data effectively for operational decision making.
- Experience in human resource management, staff development and effective administrative leadership.
- Experience in capital management, facilities management and hospital construction projects.
