Chief Operating Officer, UI Hospitals & Clinics
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
- A graduate degree or the equivalent in healthcare administration, business, or a related discipline.
- Proven business, financial, and planning skills.
- Minimum of ten years of progressive management experience in healthcare operations.
- Minimum of five years of experience in successful healthcare business/program development.
- Demonstrated record of working effectively with nurses, physicians, ancillary personnel, and administrators.
- Experience in the development and evaluation of clinical programs.
- Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
- Demonstrated commitment to managing in a transparent environment as well as understanding of complexities of managing in a public institution.
Desired qualities and qualifications include:
- Experience in an academic medical center or complex teaching hospital.
- Effective collaborator and experience working across a matrix environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Effectiveness in assembling and leading teams.
- Experience with benchmarking and using data effectively for operational decision-making.
- Experience in human resource management, staff development and administrative leadership.
- Experienced in a unionized environment.
- Experience in capital management, facilities management, and hospital construction projects.
