The Department of Pathology is seeking a Clerk III to perform assignments and related clerical work as required to support the AP Records area in Anatomic Pathology.  Under general supervision, obtains and organizes slides for pathologist review, conferences, and shipping to other locations.  Assists with digital scanning of slides as directed, including preparation of slides to be placed in the scanner.  Returns material to referring institutions. Scan patient’s consult reports into EPIC.  Scan frozen section sheets into EPIC Beaker. This position is 100% time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Duties to include:

  • Performs clerical duties in Anatomic Pathology records area.
  • Prepares for scheduled tumor boards and conferences daily.
  • Fulfills requests by outside institutions to mail pathology materials on specific patients.
  • Operates 3D Histech Digital Slide scanner as assigned.
  • Retrieves materials for research and special studies.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Any combination of clerical office experience and undergraduate college level course work or post high school secretarial/clerical training that is the equivalent of two years of full-time employment.

Special Qualifications (if appropriate):

  • High volume public contact.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • EPIC experience
  • Word Processing experience
  • Medical terminology
