UI Health Care, Department of Rehabilitation Therapies, is seeking a positive and energetic individual to join our patient-centered care team as a full-time Clerk III. 

We are a fast-paced, high volume, multidisciplinary clinic encompassing out-patient services for both general and specialized occupational and physical therapy services. Your role as a Clerk III and first point of contact for our department is critical in laying the groundwork for a superior patient experience and successful rehabilitation outcome.

Initial training and on-boarding will be completed at the Main Campus University Hospital prior to relocating to Medical Campus North Liberty. In addition to providing occupational and physical therapy services, this new and state of the art facility will include orthopedic medical and surgical providers, a full-service community imaging center, laboratory services, pharmacy, emergency department and other support services.

General responsibilities will include:

·      Greet and assist patients, families, visitors, vendors, and the public.

·      Schedule outpatient appointments which may require coordination with other departments.

·      Complete check-in processes and scheduling follow-up appointments.

·      Answer multi-line, incoming phone calls and resolve or triage requests.

·      Process and manage incoming occupational and physical therapy referrals and appointment requests.

·      Facilitate communications between patients, families, visitors, vendors, and other care providers.

·      Use of computers, electronic medical records system (Epic), and a variety of software

·      Completion of tasks as assigned.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

·        Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to two years of full-time employment.

Desirable Qualifications

·        Previously worked in a Rehabilitation setting.

·        Knowledge and experience of the EPIC software system.

·        Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage high-volume public contact effectively.

·        Insurance knowledge in healthcare setting.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·        Knowledge of medical terminology.

·        Skill in utilizing computer software packages and online systems.
