The University of Iowa College of Dentistry is seeking a part time Clerk to join the Family Dentistry department! In this role, you’ll provide high level clerical support to help coordinate essential components of the Family Dentistry Program for fourth year dental students. From managing course sites to organizing clinical schedules, you’ll work closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure smooth day to day operations and support a strong educational experience!

From managing course sites to organizing clinical schedules, you’ll work closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure smooth day to day operations and support a strong educational experience!

Responsibilities:

o   Manage ICON course sites and course data in MAUI, ensuring timely content updates, attendance tracking, and grade submissions.

o   Develop internal timelines to meet ICON and MAUI deadlines.

o   Create and distribute clinical rotation and chair schedules, coordinate with departments and students.

o   Collaborate with Registrar and Student Affairs for room scheduling, student schedule changes, and clinic assignments.

o   Track and update student clinical progress in AxiUm, maintain accurate student records.

o   Assist Course Director with didactic lecture scheduling and data entry in MAUI.

o   Provide administrative support: reception, communication, meeting coordination, room reservations, and faculty correspondence.

College of Dentistry – Family Dentistry

Salary:  $22,278.96

Typical Schedule:  20 hours per week, To Be Determined between Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

                                     May require occasional overtime.

Work Location:      On-Site

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·         Any combination of progressively responsible related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to four years of full-time employment.

Desirable Qualifications:

·         Experience utilizing:

o   Course management software (e.g. ICON);

o   Student Information system (e.g. MAUI);

o   Clinical tracking/scheduling software (e.g. AxiUm/Epic); and

o   High proficiency with spreadsheets/database software (e.g. Excel), including data management, reporting, and planning/tracking of schedules.

·         Experience supporting professional/graduate-level educational programs.

·         Working understanding of FERPA regulations and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

·         Knowledge of dentistry terminology.

·         Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex schedules, balance competing demands, and consistently meet deadlines.

·         Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
