Clinic Services Specialist - Presurgical Evaluation Clinic 100%
The Clinic Services Specialist in the Presurgical Evaluation Clinic at UI Health Care provides daily administrative, clinical, and operational support. This position acts as a resource on patient/clinical workflow: such as informatics (EHR), patient appointment systems, care coordination, billing/compliance, and management of medical information for a clinic team. This role also provides expertise in clinical or research settings and excellent communication to a varied patient population.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Patient Access Services to Clinical and Non-Clinical Departments
- Coordinate clinical visits and procedures
- Communicate with patients and external entities and manage the pre-visit activities by triaging patient inquiries.
- Communicate with other clinical sites both internally and externally
- Manage communications between clinical teams. Respond to request for information
- Gather medical information from patients and provide information using available resources.
- Make decisions and exercise a high level of autonomy while performing responsibilities
- Manage correspondence.
- Access the needs of the patients and interpret how the clinic team can serve them efficiently and effectively to enhance the patient experience.

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 0800-1700
Location: University Campus
Pay Grade: 3A

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 1-year experience working in a customer service field.
- Experience in writing/developing correspondence with internal and external entities (e.g., patients, customers, vendors, etc.)
- Previous experience which demonstrates proficiency in computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience working independently with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience with EPIC/EHR.
- Experience working in a medical/clinical setting.
- Knowledge of clinical scheduling and coordination of patient activities.
- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures
- Customer service experience or training.
- Knowledge of billing/compliances.
