Clinical Care/Specialized Services Supervisor (MLS Supervisor) Microbiology
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology program from an accredited college/university with specialized training in laboratory medicine, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- 1 – 3 years clinical laboratory experience within the past five (5) years is required.
- Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or specialist certification in appropriate laboratory discipline from American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) from Health Education and Welfare (HEW) is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and skills shown by successfully leading teams/groups in projects, work assignments, policy updates, etc. is required.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in communication and working well with others is desired.
- Extensive clinical microbiology experience is desired.
- Supervisory experience within a clinical microbiology laboratory is desired.
- Experience working in an academic medical center is desired.
- Demonstrated technical writing experience (particularly for NCCLS and CAP-compliant documents) is desired.
