Clinical Coordinator - Perioperative Services
- Collaborating with nursing, medical staff, and other health professionals to plan and care for specific patient populations.
- Overseeing surgery scheduling to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Managing patient preference cards for accuracy.
- Reconciling surgery charges to keep our records in check.
- Leading efforts to improve nursing quality through care planning, surgical schedule oversight, charge reconciliation, and documentation audits.
- Educating health profession students and residents with specialized health education.
- Communicating complex medical information to a variety of audiences.
- Participating in Quality Improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
- Reporting variances and working to address them.
- Recommending policy enhancements for improved care processes.
- Care Coordination
- Integrate multidisciplinary treatments for optimal patient care.

- Develop clinical skills of students, residents, and staff.

Percent of Time: 100%
Schedule: Monday – Friday, weekends, holidays, and call per unit needs.

Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa
- A minimum of 2 years recent OR nursing experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstration of commitment to principles of Service Excellence
- Excellent organization skills; detail oriented
- Collaborates and develops effective interpersonal relationships with nursing staff, medical staff, interdisciplinary teams, and other hospital departments.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA), or Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP) is encouraged
- Expertise in Robotic surgical procedures
- Expertise in Epic Optime
- Knowledge of OR scheduling processes
- Specialty certification within one year of eligibility to sit for exam.
