POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 

 

 

Education Requirement 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

 

Required Qualifications  

  • Demonstrated experience, typically 3-5 years, in event planning. 

  • The ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control multiple projects. 

  • Exceptional attention to detail, planning, and follow-up skills. 

  • The ability to interact with a variety of people, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated ability to follow brand guidelines. 

  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office applications. 

  • Demonstrated constructive and collaborative relationship building skills with a variety of individuals and groups, including peers, leadership, and external constituents. 

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain UI Fleet Services safety standards

  • The ability to move and transport items up to 30 lbs. for on and off-site events. 

 

 

Desired Qualifications 

  • Five years of event experience ranging from small to large events. 

  • Familiarity with post-secondary higher education institutions. 

  • The ability to handle and solve problems under pressure. 

  • Experience managing internal and external suppliers and partners. 

  • The ability to functionally supervise a team.
