Position Qualifications

 

 

Education required:


•    Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent mix of education and experience

 

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Evidence of strong organizational and prioritization skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Evidence of working with diplomacy, discretion, and good judgement.
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in an internal communications setting or administration. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write, edit and proof content in accordance with established brand guidelines
  • Highly organized and able to establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated understanding of DEI issues and ability to effectively interact with diverse populations.
  • Experience working in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with some interruptions.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Canva and willingness to learn and use web-based systems such as Qualtrics, Drupal, and Ad Astra
  • Experience with Microsoft 365
  • Familiarity and experience working in college or university setting
