UI Health Care's Joint Office for Compliance is seeking a Compliance Coordinator to assist with the UI Health Care Conflict of Interest program and UI Health Care policy database.

Position Responsibilities:

Investigation, Remediation and Reporting of Complaints and Reviews

  • Assist with identifying, reviewing, and maintaining current and archived policies in response to internal requests.

  • Assist with the initial review and documentation of potential conflicts of interest.

 

 Consultation, Risk Assessment and Interpretation, Research of Regulations

  • Serve as an initial point of intake for compliance hotline and conflict of interest calls and emails to escalate issues as per SOP. 

  • Assist with the preliminary review, organization, and tracking of compliance complaints, reviews, and follow‑up activities.

  • Assist with research into regulations related to our existing policies and guidelines.

  •  Support CMS Open Payments by auditing activities by gathering, validating, and organizing data for compliance review.

  • Support the review of COI disclosures, including assembling materials and drafting components of management plans for supervisory review.

  • Assist with reviewing personal consulting agreements against COI standards for completeness and consistency.

  • Assist faculty and staff with completing annual COI disclosures, providing procedural guidance and follow‑up reminders as needed.

  • Track and follow up on Clinical Systematic Analysis action items to support timely completion.

Management of External Standards Review Process

  • Support internal and external standards review processes by coordinating materials, tracking feedback, and maintaining records.

  • Support other compliance staff as directed.

Policy Development

  • Assist with the review, revision, and formatting of UI Health Care policies, guidelines, and protocols.

  • Assists with template formats, integrates, and manages policy information appearing on the UI Health Care policy database sites.

 

Training and Educational Programs

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of PolicyTech help guides and reference materials for staff use.

  • Support the preparation and delivery of PolicyTech and COI training sessions, as requested.

  • Assist with maintaining COI‑related web content to ensure accuracy and alignment with current policy.

  • Support policy database administration and department intranet maintenance, ensuring information is current and accessible

Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • 1-3 years of related experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel, including the ability to format tables, retrieve data viz queries and create presentations.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience developing training and education materials

  • Excellent organizational skills required.  Must be flexible, have the ability to change priorities quickly and the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Proven analytic, problem solving and organizational skills.  Ability to work independently.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to health care operations

  • Knowledge of University of Iowa Health Care policies and procedures.

  • Experience in project management, quality improvement or regulatory compliance.

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records

This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment.
