Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience (typically 6 months – 1 year) of professional or graduate assistant work in college or university recreation facility or program management, or comparable community recreation experience.
  • Basic ability to apply an organization’s performance management system, practices, and tools to develop and improve individual performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative climate that recognizes and promotes diversity and individual growth in multicultural competency.
  • Extensive understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques, with th ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors and ability to provide examples of savvy approaches to effectively resolve conflicts or complaints.
  • Working experience with standard office computer applications, including Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Current CPR, AED, First-Aid Certification, or the ability to obtain within one month of hire.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation Administration, Sports Management or related field.
  • Six months or more of supervisory experience including supervising students in a college or university setting.
  • Experience using recreational management software.
  • Working experience with event scheduling and special event support.
